Waiver & Release

In consideration for allowing my child to participate in Armstrong County Wrestling Academy (ACWA), I acknowledge and agree as follows:

Assumption of Risk

I understand that wrestling is a physical, full-contact sport involving risks including falls, takedowns, throws, joint locks, collisions, skin infections, concussions, head, neck or spinal injuries, broken bones, dislocations, heat illness, dehydration, permanent disability, and death. I knowingly and voluntarily accept these risks on behalf of myself and my child during practices, tournaments, conditioning, weigh-ins, travel, and other club activities.

Release of Liability

I release and agree to hold harmless Armstrong County Wrestling Academy and Claude Youth Sports Inc., along with their directors, coaches, volunteers, officials, sponsors, facility owners (including the Warner Community Building), host organizations, employees, agents, and representatives, from claims arising from my child's participation, including claims caused in whole or in part by their ordinary negligence. This includes, without limitation, negligent coaching, supervision, instruction, equipment, mat or facility conditions, failure to warn, or emergency response. This release applies to claims I may have individually and, to the fullest extent permitted by Texas law, claims asserted on behalf of my child. It does not release gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

Medical Authorization

If I cannot be reached during an emergency, I authorize club personnel to obtain emergency medical evaluation, ambulance transportation, hospitalization, and treatment for my child. I accept responsibility for medical expenses not covered by insurance. I will tell the coaches about any medical condition, allergy, or medication that could affect my child's safety.

Property and Insurance

ACWA is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property and does not provide insurance for it. ACWA recommends that I carry my own health, medical, and property insurance for my child for losses related to this sport.

Skin and Health

I will keep my child home from practice and competition with any contagious skin condition (such as ringworm, impetigo, or herpes gladiatorum) or illness until cleared, and I understand tournament officials may disqualify a wrestler for an active skin condition.

Travel

Tournaments are optional. I am responsible for my child's transportation to and from practices and tournaments unless I make other arrangements directly with another family.

Photo & Media Release

I give permission for photographs and video of my child taken during club activities to be used for club communications, results, websites, social media, and promotion without compensation.

USA Wrestling

I understand my child must hold a current USA Wrestling membership to practice and compete, and that membership carries its own terms, which I accept when the membership is purchased.

Certification

I certify that I am the child's parent or legal guardian, that my child is physically able to participate, and that I have read and voluntarily agree to these terms. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Texas law governs this agreement.

By checking the waiver box on the registration form, I confirm I have read, understood, and agree to this Waiver & Release.
